The North Myrtle Beach Swim teams had an outstanding showing at the 3AAA State Swim Meet Saturday Oct.11th in Columbia. The boy’s team was led by Mason Bryan as he repeated as the 1st place finisher in the 100 backstroke! Mason also took the podium with a 3rd place finish in the 200 IM and swam on the 9th place Medley Relay and the 10th Place 400 Free Relay. Chase Teasley contributed with 2- 10th place finishes in the 100 Fly and 100 Breast and swam on the relays with Bryan. Tyzon Kinner put in work as he swam personal bests in his 200 IM and the 500 Free- finishing 15th and 12th and 2 relays. The Chiefs were rounded out with stellar performances from Joshua Devine in the 200 Free and relays, Nicholas McNiece in the 100 free and all 3 relays, River Newman and Connor Britt-Tripp on the 200 Free Relay. The Boys finished 10th of 37 overall.
The lady Chiefs also put in a strong showing Saturday. April Ratley swam on 2 relays as well as the 200 IM and the 100 Breaststroke, swimming personal bests in both. Ivey Brown surprised herself as she shaved seconds off her times to swim her personal bests in the 200 IM and the 100 Breaststroke. Elizabeth Caine swam a personal best in the 100 backstroke to finish 25th and competed in 2 relays and the 50 free. Rayni Newman, Summer Ratley, and Rivers Chandler also swam personal bests to boost the Lady Chiefs to an 18th place finish. The Chiefs return all but Teasley for next season.
